The GTO is the Australian built Holden Monaro ( this explains the style ) which has been around since the late 90's (I believe), so it shouldn't have many/any bugs left to be worked out.
Cadillacs have historically poor reliability (not specifically the newest CTS-V drivetrain), but many other components/systems that combine to give you the ownership experience you desire from a luxury/sport car.
The SRT8 Mopar products may/may-not prove to be worthy purchases, but its to early to tell.
I can tell you that I ran a SRT8 Magnum from 2 stop lights in my truck (04 Silverado with 5.3 Radix, custom 3 1/2" exhaust, custom ram-air CAI, 4.10 gears, Caltracs, HD2 shift kit plus TCI Servos and a few other minor tweaks). He got me on the hole shot both times by about 1 to 1 1/2 lengths but I caught & passed him once I hooked-up both runs. The distance we were running was probably about 3/16 of a mile each time and I got him by about 2 lengths both runs. I was traction limited by my stock 16" tires and he wasn't with his 20's.

the guy that owns the SRT8 Charger works with me!!! I checked out the car today and I really like it. Im just debating whether its worth selling the truck, all the parts, and buying a new car just to have the mod bug start all over again. I want a 4 door car. Im only 26 but plan on having a family and I like big vehicles as Im a pretty big guy normally. The torn bicep thing that Im going through now has me rethinking the T56 equipped CTS-V although I could get it used for less than the SRT8 Im sure. AAAHHHHH!!!!!! What should I do? I may go ahead and take off the vortech and sell it and see if I can make up my kind from there....
How much is the turbo kit??????

A buddy of mine has a Charger SRT8. He loves it. He's having some work done on it at the same shop in FL my truck is at (they also offer a single turbo kit for the SRT8 using the same components as mine). I cant wait to see the first one of them KRC puts out (as long as it i AFTER my truck is home LOL) Anyway just don't let the tuning scare you- you can tune it now too.

I dont know. The CTS-V is the better choice IMO b/c I can get it used and its a Cadillac has more available mods (STS!) and will have a better resale, but for some reason the Dodge just jumps at me!!

I saw a SRT-8 Charger yesturday. Silver w/ black racing stripes and black wheels. Looked ok. Just not crazy about them though. I'd definately pick the CTS-V but if you had to have a SRT-8 i'd go with the Jeep. I'm chevy blood through and through but the SRT-8 Jeep is a better looking body than the SS trailblazer IMO.
And about your arm and the 6 speed, you can't tell me that you won't heal up enough to shift gears. You may have problems with body building but I doubt shifting gears. But if you are ready to declare that you are old at 26 then get an automatic.

Have you ever sat behind the wheel of a CTS-V? If you're a big guy like you say, you may have a difficult time in the Cadillac. I could never own a CTS, when I got behind the wheel of one my knees were crammed up against the wheel such that it would be a safety issue for me to attempt to drive it.
