Default Texas edition center cap mod

Does anybody know how to take the black off of these centercaps? I could have sworn I read somewhere how to do it but I cannot find it now. I have the reproduction caps like this one shown, should that be any different than the factory ones with the bowtie? Or, where can I get a machined aluminum looking sticker to put on?? Please help... Thanks.

It may be, but Id like to know before I go picking at it and scratching it up if its not. I mean it really seems like its not just an overlay, but I cant tell really.

The factory ones come off. Its like a rubber decal if that makes any sense.
