I took the tailgate cap off my Sierra cause the adhesive was deteriorating. I like the tailgate caps on the silverados better. is there any difference in tailgates at all? my tailgate has some square holes in it, is this where it mounts?

You can get the threaded inserts from the dealer for those holes.
