That’s odd. It’s the exact same connector and even plugs into the TAC. So I’m lost. But anyway, it looks like I’ll have to run the harness I have.

It’s possible, I suppose.

Sometimes in a factory, it's easier (read: cheaper) to make all of em the same, than it is to keep track of which ones get something and which ones don't. And then to figure out why ones that are supposed to have it don't work, only to discover that it accidentally got left off.

While it's absolutely true that extra parts cost extra money, mistakes often cost EVEN MORE. Especially if it's a PITA to fix them for whatever reason.

To me it looks like your truck had the pedal harness even though it didn't need it. Probably for that exact reason somehow.

I understand the logic but he's saying that wiring piece is incomplete and unusable. If a TAC harness was factory installed we wouldn't be speculating what's going on. From my understanding extra splices in the TAC harness leads to issues so having half the harness with a connector for the other half on that short harness doesn't make sense either. Maybe it's a discontented part from a different platform they're just using to fill in the firewalls TAC opening hole lol. It's a head scratcher for sure.

This weekend I am going to pull out the white fuse box under the left side of the dash and see if it’s back there somewhere, maybe taped up to the main harness. Most of my dash is apart anyway, so might as well. If not, I’m gonna have to figure out how to run that harness, because there’s no good way to get that big *** connection through the firewall. If splicing it causes issues as you said, then hopefully I have enough length to remove the pins from the connector and feed the wires through the hole where the throttle cable was and then reinstall the pins in the connector. Sounds good in theory.

Yeah it's probably buried up in there somewhere... what you have under the hood sure does look like the right thing, so maybe it's just time for some archaeology to locate the other end of it.

Yeah. I looked at a friend’s truck who is DBW and it comes right through where my clutch master is. So....what about trucks that were 4.8 with a manual transmission? They were DBW right? Or did they not make that combo past 2002?

Yes they did have 4.8L with manual option all the way up to the 07 classic. The RST trucks where like that.

I’d sure like to know where they passed the TAC through the firewall on those trucks. On automatic trucks, it’s goes through where the clutch master cylinder would be.
