Default Symptoms of a bad Converter???

I've about had it with this damn truck

Now that that's out of the way....

My converter will not lock on it's own. I can manually lock it via HP tuners, but that's the only way. When I log it, I can see that the PCM is being commanded to lock the converter, and it says "Locked" but is isn't.

One day it just up and quit locking. So that rules out a tuning problem. I changed the PWM Solenoid as well as the TCC Solenoid hoping that was the problem, no dice.

Fluid looked good. There are no missfires. And the truck runs great otherwise.

If there was a problem with the converter, would a symptom be no lock up?

Thanks!!

What brand converter?

Have you tried contacting the company that built it?

It's a Circle D 3-3200.

Didn't want to go calling him if no one on here thought it was the converter. But I can't think of anything else it could be.

If you can get it to lock with hp, then I would think that rules out a mechanical problem. Are you sure the tune is set up correctly, maybe try putting everything in the tune that deals with the trans and converter back to stock, and see what it does?

I've done that and still had no lock up. It's crazy frustrating

when my lockup went nuts for about 4 months, it ended up being a crack in the TCC Solenoid

Brake lights function correctly.

Any other outward signs to check for a bad brake switch?
