swaping for a 2wd rc or ec
im thinking (most likely going to be doing) about buying a 00-02 2wd truck and swaping all my go fast parts off of my truck on to the new one. then selling my truck back in its stock form, to break even.
what i am wondering is what do you think a 2wd rc with all my mods in my sig would do in the 1/4 mile vs a ec in the 1/4 with same mods. how much is the ec's weight going to effect my 1/4 mile times.
i dont plan on going to much further with the truck, but down the road i plan on getting a cam (tr220) and some n2o (100shot). i think if i could shed the lbs from a 4wd and ec i could get into the mid to high 12's N/A, which would probably keep me happy for a while.
i just started looking for 2wd trucks and it seems like a 00-02 rcsb is a rare truck around this area. there are millions of 2wd ecsb but i dont think i will need the ec because im going to make this truck my toy truck and buy an diesel for my people and toy hauler, and keep it fairly stock.

I think that you will need more than what you stated to get you into the 12's even in a RC. The weight difference is usually around 400 lbs. between the two so that will equate to about 4 tenths or so. You can make an ECSB light if you want to. Mine weighs 4700 w/o me in it and 3/4 tank of gas with the usual weight reductions (spare, jack, tools).
I think you will be in the 14's with the mods you have now in either truck but the RCSB will be a little faster than the ECSB.

I think you should get a RC, but I'm biased. Are you going to use your truck as a daily driver? Do you have a family that needs more room than what a RC truck offers? Some things for you to consider. Obviously a RC truck will benefit you in the performance department. I think the weight difference between a RC and EC is approximately 500 lbs., which is usually worth a couple tenths in the 1/4 mile. Also, I think RC trucks are more personal. EC trucks are everywhere...they are as common as minivans and Honda Civics.

im almost positive that i will be in the 13s at least i ran a 15.3 with my old truck set up and the new one is deffently a high 14 truck. this is in a 4wd ecsb truck. with the weight loss from a ec to a rc is 500lbs, i would assume the 4wd would be atleast 200lbs. so thats 700lbs gone i would think it would be good for .5-.7 tenths.
as for the use of the truck. it would get driven just like the one i have now does, on nice days and weekends. i would say about 7-10,000 miles a year. other then that is sits in the garage. i have a beater that i drive in the winter and as my daily driver. and in the spring of not sooner i plan on getting a used ecsb or ccsb 4wd duramax. so i will have a truck that will be albe to carry some people.
i would deffently like to find a rc because thats really what i want. i was just wondering how much of a performance loss would i have by getting an ec instead.

thanks everyone. yeah ive had my eye out, and i cant seem to find any rc. if i find a nice ec i might just have to grab it. i deffently think it would be impressive to see an ec in the 12s. ill take a look at the fastest truck list and see what it would take.
