Ah I see, I just don't consider 1.1 mpg a big difference. I definatly notice a decrease if I floor it on every on-ramp.... my wallet gets thinner

1.1mpg may not be a big difference but, to me it's a very noticeable difference. I know some people's driving routes and styles can differ by quite a bit from tank to tank but, mine doesn't very often so when I saw that change in mileage I wondered why it was. The gas has been the only thing I've been able to attribute it to.

1.1 mpg is about 30 more miles out of a tank. That is about 2 gallons worth of gas more per tank. Approx 6.00 per fill up savings, that would = 12.00 per week for me.....or lunch for a day(hence the 5400 lb race weight). Or it could be 624.oo per year = One years worth of insurance.

How is that doin?

1.1 mpg isnt much to someone who only driver 5-7k miles per year, but I drive 20-25k miles per year so it adds up. $640 is enough for long tubes, and exhaust which COULD theorhetically give you another 1-2 mpg which would double your savings the second year.
I say screw shell. Use what does best in your truck.

So, I assume that it is worth it with the price difference from Shell to Sunoco.

Or is Sunoco cheaper? That'd be awesome.

Is sunco a premium brand? Over here the premium is chevron and you pay 10-15 cents more for it so......Blown do some more math and see if it balances out lol

Sooo does anybody know how one brand of gas can be better than another?

Ive noticed I get alot better performance as in no kr, go buy a cheap 93 gas and log kr then go by bp and log with the same tune I see a difference, plus better mileage.

Sunoco is actually a little bit cheaper than Shell right now over here so it works out nicely. It is a premium brand and does cost a few cents more than some of the bargain stations but, I don't mind paying a little extra for convenience most of the time.

I typically have a 0.8-1 MPG variance between fillups, and that is using the same gas at the same gas station all the time. I'm not sure if some batches of gasoline are better than others or if my mileage variance is related to other things such as ambient temperature, humidity, and use of AC.

FWIW - I've always gotten the best mileage with Shamrock and the worst mileage using Sam's club gasoline. I did a mini-economic study to determine where I get the most miles/dollar....and that is where I go.
