2000 Silverado with the fold down center console... Well, mine finally did it... I know it was a common problem, and I will most-likely be cringing while I pull it apart, hoping that nothing snaps while I dig into it in the freezing weather!

I can get the lid open with some persuasion, just wondering if anyone has any insight before I start prying to get the plastic piece off so I can get at the latch and look for the rod that keeps it from opening when it is in the upright position... Any help?
