Default street tire need advice

the truck: 2002 RCSB RWD 5.3L with minor mods ( intake manifold, LT with true dual) and a belltech 3/4 drop on 2014 gmc 20'' all-terrain
It will most likely be use on the street , I might go to the drag strip 2-3 next summer , plan on doing less than 5000 miles in my summer. I drive the truck pretty hard when I take it for a spin !

295/40r20 or 295/45r20 not sure yet

I've look at a few brands and stop at Falken S/TZ05 or FK453CC

Any one as tried them before ? would you recommend something else ?

I'm in canada so a tire that is sold for 150 $ U.S. goes for 245$ CND and I can't afford 500$ per tire !

Thanks

Those might rub with you being lowered in the front that much and you wanting to drive it like you stole it.

I almost rubbed with 275/55/20 on a 2/4 drop.

I have no comment of either tire you posted, never seen either. I do like the nitto nt 420s for a truck tire.

+1 on the Nitto 420, or Toyo Proxes.

Unless you are just dead set on the falkens stay away from them... Heavy as hell, no traction in rain and they dont wear well... I personally prefer nittos, hankooks or a kumho over the falkens... At least asfar as truck tires go...

They don't offer nitto's in 295/40r20 ... I was never a fan of toyo or khumo tires ... at least on car's, don't know about truck tires!?! I'l give them a second look !

I've got ST II's on my 06 SS, and had them as well as the original ST's, on a few other trucks. They are a high load rated tire meant for sport trucks. Not the stickiest out there but they hold up well on heavy vehicles. Downside is a good mash of the pedal will annihilate them. They're not maximum traction tires. But they're also pretty cheap.

I have st II's on my '15 decent on dry pavement, corner well and seem to wearing well. No good at the track or in the rain.

Then what tire would do the job for occasional drag nights

I'm running these tires, albeit in 275/55R17:
