Dumb question I know, but when would leaded gas be appropriate to run? Im just not clear on what advantages it could or does have in certian situations....

high boost or lots of nitrous works best with higher octane. 6-8psi is the limit for most people on pump gas and a 150shot is pushing pump gas. you can get unleaded fuel up to 105 octane but the leaded stuff is cheaper.

Sad thing is, I just put $60 of the cheap 87 octane in my truck and did not fill it up. We are paying no less than $2.40 for 87 here right now. Some places are as high as $2.53. I saw Full Service 91 Octane in Palm Springs for $3.25.

$3.99/gal for 110 octane! Holy ****, that rulz! We have 100octane at a few pumps here, but its like $4.69/gal. Did anyone else notice the Methanol pump? Damn where is this place, I'm sooooo moving there. 13:1 CR or 20psi here I come!

From what I know is that Leaded will kill your exhaust sytem, clog mufflers, kill O2s, etc. However, a benefit is that leaded gasoline is a good lubricator and keeps your valve seats in check. Unleaded doesn't have as good lubrication qualites as Leaded though but emits less hydrocarbons.
