It'd work but do you already have steering wheel controls. Also, if I were you I'd remove the ebay link from your post. The way things have been going around this forum lately, someone here will see it and ****** it up from under you if you're serious about buying it.

i agree with joe... something like that is at risk of disappearing. the wheel will work but I think you'd need to have wiring already in place for the controls to work.

If you don't have the controls, you will need a SIR coil (clockspring) part# 26101829, expensive. Then to get the DIC and redundant radio controls to work, you will have to go to a dealer. They will have to contact the GM tech line to get the codes to program your truck. I believe GM charges for these codes now. Some dealers will not want to fool with this, some will tell you it can't be done (it can) and a few will know what to do.

The GMT900s is far easier to add this function.

Thanks for the link, just won it!

Just kidding

Were steering wheel controls available for 99-02? I don't think so but I wanted to make sure. Could one of these wheels be adapted to work in a 99-02?

Probably not Bud,

Im thinking the BCM may not support it in the earlier years?

Replacing the clockspring sucks.

Ive done this in my 05 Tahoe, would have been easier to swap columns!

Just a lot of wires thats all.

BTW i found a clockspring on Ebay that was a lot cheaper than the dealer ( sorry no link it was last year.)

The BCM will support it 03 and up. Adding steering wheel controls on 03 and up has been done many times.
