Default Stall converter with factory lq9

I have an 05 Escalade 6.0 LQ9 2WD with 3.73's. Long tubes and y pipe are my only performance mods so far. I have a corvette servo and tru cool 40k as well.

I don't have the funds right now to do both a cam swap and stall converter. So I'm trying to decide which would be the better bang for the buck right now? I plan on at least a 3000 stall and I was looking at the truck Norris cam but mostly cause I could get away with the factory converter. If I stall it now, I can get away with a bigger cam down the road.

This is my daily driver. I don't tow but maybe 3 times a year and nothing heavy. I want more usable power down low where this heavy pig needs it

I'm running a 2500 stall on my stock LQ4 Denali, daily. I don't notice anything negative, just less bogging off the line, and on hills. I plan on a BTR stage 2 or 3 cam, but have not got around to it yet. I'm wondering if I should have just gone with a 3k stall.

So no negatives around town?

Maybe a slight gas mileage hit

I never bothered tracking fuel mileage, I'm not ever driving for mileage, my dash never changed from 12.6mpg. As far as driving around goes, the truck does not roll back on most hills like the stock converter, most of the time it feels happier not lugging off the line, but also does not feel like its reving too much. I have a performabuilt 4L60 so it shifts firmer, so I don't notice if unlocking the converter is any firmer like on the freeway. I don't tow at all with it. Just did a 200 mile road trip with the family, no complaints. The converter has been on the truck 2 years.

I'm curious to hear other input on 3k stall for daily.

Go with a good 3600stall torque converter. You'll feel that more than the cam.

I daily a 3600 FTI. It's fine around town, revs will garner attention more than a stock truck. Mileage will take a hit with a 3600.

Are you cammed? If I go with a stall first, I'll be on the factory cam and 317's for a while until I get the funds for a bigger cam

What about a trailblazer stall? Aren't they about a 2600?
