SS front bumper on a 2500HD?
i hit a deer this past weekend and all it did was bend the corner of my bumper. so i was thinking i might try and get a SS bumper for the front and get it body colored.
any thoughts?
anyone seen one?

Go for it, it would look awesome. I love the color matched front ends on the SS's. I am not sure how the front "intake" looking squares in the bumper would look on a HD, but I dont think it would look bad at all, maybe a little high off the ground but thats about it. I would personally do it.

wont look right. look at your bumper and you will notice the top black piece is taller than what is on a non hd truck.
so i think if you put an ss bumper on your hd there will be a gap between your grill and the top of the bumper. but with a little work you could have something one of a kind..

there is a dealership here in MN that sells conversions...the use the 2500 and lift the heck out of them, put the SS front and rear bumper, fog lights in the brake duct vents...etc...the look very good...i have a pic of one of them somethere...i'll see if i can dig them up...

Or this.
This is how the guy did it. First you need to replace the top cap of the factory with one off of a 1500. Then cut of the factory bumper brackets and weld on new ones, higher up. The cover is a Street Scene SS Cover. Its not a true SS bumper, but it gives you an idea.
