Hi Everyone I am Kind Of New Here But I Know A Few People Real Good,And We Were Talking About Our Sponsors Here On PT.We need To Stick Together and Send Our Business To The People Helping Us.I Don't Think People Should Even Be Able To mention Shops Name If They R Not A Sponsor.

generally.. thats the rules. The mods really try to cut down on mentioning of prices and what not of non sponsers... If someone is mentioned that is a non sponser.. its fine to throw their name out there.. but contact info, web address, and prices are to be done through pm's. if you know of ppl that are good to work with, encourage them to jump aboard here on pt.net and become a sponser.

 

I don't see that it's hurting anything by mentioning other companies names that aren't a sponsor. As long as that company or a person from the forum doesn't come in here advertising, who cares?

 

I think its fine the way it is. We should be able to talk about other places but shouldnt be able to direct link contact info and such which is the policy right now. I have used the sponsors many times for stuff. I have dealt with Nelson Performance, Tybrne, SPDC, TSP, Nitrous Outlet, AutoAnything and Speed Engineering. They were all great to deal with and I constantly steer people to the sponsors they are why this site stays alive for me to spend so much time on.

 

I agree the sponsors are a huge asset to this site. I really like having a quick link to the side to check stuff out really quick as well. I have personally bought from magnacharger, hptuners, texas speed & SDPC and would highly recommend them all to anyone. I do disagree with not mentioning any other shops or suppliers, that is kinda what this site is for, sharing information and helping each others out. Meaningless plugs are unacceptable but if someone asks me where I bought something I am going to tell them and it shouldn't have to be contained in a PM. If there is some people on here non-sponsors that you feel are using this site for their own personal gain then maybe they should be called out personally via PM. I would assume something like that is going on thus the purpose of this thread
Just to add: I most likely would have never bought from the sponsors I have if they were not on this site advertising. I had never heard of most of them before 8 months ago and I have spent over $50k in performance parts alone in the last 10 years.

 

i understand that the sponsors are there for a reason, but they dont carry EVERYTHING. Sometimes you NEED to post a non sponsor to get someone heading in the right direction
