Default So what is truely empty?

How many gallons left till the low fuel light comes on?
Ive had that light on and the needle down low for like 2 days before, and I'll go fill up and only take like 23 gallons. From what Ive read, our tanks are 26 gallons.

I try not to go past 50 if I have to. remember that as you drive around the fuel is sloshing around. You dont want to let the pump suck dry air... It will spin fast and essintialy burn the motor up because there is no load on it. That will ruin it.

It's not good on the fuel pump to let it get that low very often anyway since the fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank.

I know my RCSB has a 26 gallon tank and I'm pretty sure the ECSB trucks are the same. My light seems to come on when I have about 4 gallons left.

Hey, its your pump... I used to always drive around after the light came on. I burned up a pump and ruined the float before I even hit 100k on the odometer $300 (My cost on a new GM pump assembly at the time) and half a day later and it was back in buissnes...

what does it matter, you need to put fuel in it anyhow. Is the glass half full or half empty

ouch, well maybe when I get a better job I can do that, but $75 a tank is killing me.

Hu?? it doesn't cost any more to always put gas in when you get to 1/4, then it does to do it at E

Edit: let me rephrase that, it doesn't use any more fuel...
