Default So i got my PLX DM6 wideband today!

But i didn't buy a gauge pod :O
I've seen some people mount it in the cluster where the trans temp would go, and some people put it where the passenger airbag switch is.... Is there anywhere else i can mount it? Also if there's a post explaining how to do any of these can someone post a link i couldn't find it

Another thing i will be doing when i go to the muffler shop was getting my cats taken off and welding a straight pipe, FWIW should i take the cats off?
I don't wanna gut them, and like the idea that i can weld them back on if needed. Will it make my truck a lot louder ( stock muffler)
and will it be at least like 3-5 HP gain?

As for the sensor i wanted to mount it where the driver side o2 was post cat, is this a bad idea? I know its suppose to be pre cat on NA but if i weld a straight pipe then i don't have a cat lol. Or should i just weld in a bung?

Thanks guys

Post cat is not a good idea because it will skew the afr reading. Put it pre cat

I just read that you want to gut the cats or weld in solid pipe. Well my opinion on that is you want it before in welds or flanges because if you have a small leak it will skew the afr. Also you want it closer and not that far back.

Keep the cats and have a bung welded in before

If you have the overhead console I make a dual gauge pod for it...

On a stock Y, we always mounted the WB02 bung on the drivers side after the manifold collector BEFORE the cats.

if your plug is like the one that comes in other wideband kits, you make need to cut the it in half so it sticks into the exhaust stream decently.
