XLR8NSS = self-procalimed 8100 expert and duramax expert who knows everything about the 5.3 oh I mean 8.1 and duramax.

I do like the 8.1, but it because all others is why Chevrolet is dropping the 8.1. Finially Chevy puts a 500ci engine in a truck with ls1 style engine controlls, and port arrangement. And all everyone talks about is gas mileage. Why would I not want to own the last of the American Big Blocks. Remember no more production big block after 2007. We lost the camero, and now losing the Chevy production big block. And what kills me the most is that, most guys with a small block jump at the chance to go bigger in cubic inch. Look at yourself, you are going bigger(422ci). I just started out with big already.
I NEVER said I was an expert on EITHER or those engines so DO NOT say I did. I clearly stated above that I know ONE person with an 8.1L and it gets shitty gas mileage(that's just a FACT about that ONE truck). I have first hand knowledge of a chipped Duramax and I posted about it. I only posted about trucks I know directly about. If I called myself an expert anywhere EVER on this board on either engine please point it out or stop saying I did.

This thread was started to ask about 8.1L GAS MILEAGE. I posted about what I knew about it. I'm sorry I ever mentioned the Duramax because it got you all fired up. I only posted the mileage numbers for it because you brought up the other engines in your post before that. Just doing a little comparing on mileage for different engines which was off topic but, not meant to cause you to freak out.

Yeah, I compared two different types. Big deal, GAS MILEAGE is GAS MILEAGE. The only factor I might consider with it is fuel cost and since gas and diesel are so close that doesn't really factor in. If you still don't understand what I'm saying PM me and we can discuss it cause this thread is not the place.

Please stop reading into my post more than what they are and please do not say things I never said.
