Silverstar fog lights - 893 or 880 bulbs
#1
Will the 893 Silverstar fog lights melt the factory housings? I know it calls for an 880 bulb. I've been running "regular" 893's with no problems but don't know if the Silverstars bulbs run hotter. Thanks in advance.

I had the 893s in the fog lights, but the little...nipple...(don't know what else to call it) on the top of the bulb kept hitting the reflector-deal inside the light and shattering the bulb. I finally started looking for bulbs that were made a little shorter (same model, just happened to be short), had to go to three or four stores to find a set. Put them in, thought I was good to go....nope! Lasted about a week. I went through about $80 worth of bulbs and one new light assembly (melted the reflector with one of the bulb breaks) before I said screw it and put the stock bulbs back in.
