If you need a truck to be a honest truck (four wheel drive, decent tow rating) - I'd keep the SS...

If you need a truck to use it as a car with a huge trunk (light loads, no real tow rating) - I'd go for the L...

Weight savings foo!

Actually when I am not going for all out timeslips I keep the seat in. It keeps the subwoofers from sliding around. :p

I would have thought so too since it ups the boost so much, but a friend of mine has the Harley edition and whenever he was picking it up he asked the sales guy about the smaller pulley/chip and warranty and he said it wasn't a problem, that particular dealership even did a chip for him. It all depends on the dealer though.

I say keep the SS but like said before what do you need it for-towing,back seats etc. keep SS but if your in for speed and dont need an x-cab then get the lightning. Over time you can mod the SS and be just as fast or even quicker(depending on what u do)than the lightning. I was in the same position myself and got the VHO but couldnt find a decent deal on lightning but im glad i got my truck and fixing to add boost via a radix and headers.

If someone is buying a truck to haul big loads they need to be looking at 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks not half tons. I personally tow a 3600lb boat around all summer and I think the lightning or SS could handle towing for most folks. Now most people are not going to take a SS to the local landscaping place and get a yard of gravel dumped in the bed so I think the useable point becomes mute. I would be willing to bet most folks on here don't tow anything behind their trucks or put anything heavier than groceries in the bed. Like I said most not all. the Lightning does have a respectable pay load capacity and towing capabilities. you can't tow a travel trailer with it but then I can't say I have ever seen a travel trailer behind a SS either.

It seems to me that the guy is looking for a performance truck. 25k for a 13 second truck (doable without voiding warrantee) is amazing. I don't think you can get a SS in the 13 second range without voiding the factory warrantee. the only other truck that compares to those performance numbers is the gibbs truck and it is priced about 10k higher.

bang for the buck the lightning wins hands down everytime if you are looking for a 'sport truck' and not a 'work truck'. I personally drive a sierra and a tahoe and my loyalty is to GM but give due respect where it is earned.

I don't think the L has much of a tow-rating AT ALL, maybe 2,000lbs max?

Most!

Not gravel, but I had two yards of mulch in the back of mine. My bed looks like pure hell.
