Question SES codes

How many of you guys on here are getting ses codes with long tube headers "with" cats still installed??? I went to the dealership the other day to read some live data and clear a code, the service mgr(good friend of mine) let me ride with a tech and he said that it was the right rear 02 sensor. It was reading low voltage or something like this.......he said that I need to replace it. So went to the parts dept. next door and bought a new one .......$140 !!!!!! Went home, installed it, drove it and the f......ing light came on again!!!! Read the code and it said the samething.....low voltage. So I was just wondering how many of ya'll are runnig the long tubes, cats, 02 sensors and are or if having any problems. I know...just have them deleted with HP tunners.....but I was just trying to leave them active or on so if there was a problem with the unburnt gases that might be caused by any of the mods I'm doing, I would know about it. Insted of waiting to find out about them when it's time to get an inspection sticker...am I to **** about this dilemma?? Any thoughts(good or bad).....I'll listen......or read!!!LOL!!!

I'm not really sure why you feel necessary to keep the diagnostic checks on teh Rear O2's active. Those sensors are useless. All they do is is check on catalytic converter efficiency, which would be fine as long as your engine is properly tuned (front O2's working).

I have my rear O2's SES codes turned off. [Mode 3 - Report No Error] And it does NOT interfere with the catalytic converter diagnostic check so thats not a issue come emission testing time.

Just some food for thought, as i'm afraid that if you replaced a sensor and that did not resolve it, you may never get it working as intended without wasting more money.

Well, it's probably so I know if the cats are working properly or not........I'm just ****!!! I would just hate to get the truck checked for emissions, it fails the test and I didn't know about it because the rear 02's were turned off. Even though the front 02's are working and the tune is based off of the front 02's, the rear 02's will tell you if your cats aren't working properly???? Also, while the tune is "based" off of the front 02's, can you still fail an emissions test due to runing too fat (according to the emissions computer)......???....even though this tune is optimized for your truck?? The reason why I say this is because I've heard some people say they "detune" their truck before emissions testing and then retune it afterwords. Sorry for being so dumbfounded on this topic!!
