"Service Brake System" displayed, why?
#1
Yesterday when I was leaving work in my truck, a message came up on my dash, it said "Service Brake System"
What does that mean? Do I have to take it in for service? Truck drives and brakes fine.
The truck is a 2006 Silverado with 8,100 Miles. It's 99% stock, it has an air intake tube.

you are under warranty, just bring it in and let the dealership worry about it.
My truck did that with about 5,000 miles on it, turned out to be the ABS pump blew out, when that happens the brakes work fine, but the ABS is disabled.

ABS Pump, ABS Module or could simply be the Front Wheel Speed Sensor located on your wheel hub/bearing assembly. Some have a defective Brake Booster, I need to run your VIN before I could tell if you were in the defective Booster criteria.
