I'd say get what you really want. But with the HDCC your gonna end up with something, harder to park/drive, and slower so you'll probably get bored with it much quicker. I'd say if your gonna go big get a 8.1L!!!

Keep your current truck and save some cash for the next one. Zero to modded strait off the lot!

my truck just has boltons so i know a stock duramax will smoke it. It will be something new and interesting for sure. I drove my dads extended cab truck for a while and i dont mind the extra length. I will probaly buy all banks has to offer for it. So it will be pretty fast. alot faster than what i have now.
This is exactly what i want.

FYI : my dad has a 04/LB7 dmax 4x4 ccsb all stock + 285 mudders and few bolt on appearance items

i hate driving that thing, it may have power but i cant feel it at all, my 01 4.8 rcsb w/superchips and exhaust +150k FEELS faster than it does, probably part due to the DBW TB and the poor throttle response of the diesel but i just dont like driving it. Its a PITA to park anywhere, it does look good but i just hate driving it

you know how you can feel the actual engine vibrations on you 00 truck w/ cable TB, well with a DBW diesel it has NO vibrations in throttle pedal and you have no mechanical linkage to the motor to feel the engine

i thought i wanted a dmax but after driving one i will never drive a diesel ( at least a 03+ w/dbw TB)

and my dads stock lb7 dmax would not win in a race with my truck, it would be either even or id slightly pull him

BTW on a 03+ dmax there is no difference between about 1/2 throttle and full thorttle, at least not in my dads truck

well im like right the opposite i have driven a few of my friends dmaxs and i love them. one of them has all the banks stuff and it is awesome. my truck wouldnt stand a chance with it. its a 05 he bought new. for some reason i just like a diesel. its all in preference though.
