I might agree with that so I trimmed the bottom some to get the lines to flow a little better. This pan is polyurethane which is very forgiving and I just don't think the metal Sir Mike's pan is a good idea for a daily driver. In fact I've already had 2 incidents in the last 2 months (that I don't want to talk about) that probably would have dented a metal pan.

i plan on tucking the bottom of the ss pan in there more when i install the trailer hitch. i can still cut some of it away too to make it go flat across.

The one thing I like about the SS pan coming down a little instead of dead straight across is it makes the truck look a little lower.

how did you go about cutting material off of the bottom of your pan?

I covered the area with duct or masking tape (to protect paint) and used a cut-off wheel with my Dremel tool. A die grinder with a small wheel would probably work ok too. It can also be cut with a scroll saw but the pan will vibrate like crazy. If you do this you would want to take it off the truck so you can support it better. Also if you attach a support in the middle you can pull it up just a little to keep it from dipping so low in the center. No matter what you do it's a pretty big PITA to get it cut and set just right. I think it took me the better part of a day to get mine the way I wanted it the first time.

Also if you do decide to attach it somehow on the bottom, do this first. Then figure out what you want to cut off.
