I have a hard cover on my 00 GMC and although it looks great what a PITA if you need to haul anything taller than the box. I would trade in a heartbeat for a roll top.

ive seen the rollbak brand is all aluminum contruction, where the pace-edwards has a soft based top? if the powdercoat on the rollbak doesnt scratch off, it seems it may hold up to the weather a lil longer.
i hat spending so much on a cover, but a fiberglass unit is 7-800 painted to match, so what another few bucks?

hopefully the truck aint blowed away in the damn hurricane so i can buy a cover.
riding out here near the coast of NW FL.

I have a RollBak and I like it. It is a PITA to get all the rails adjusted right. It does leak a little but nothing major except when I was my truck with a pressure washer. Even then, it's not bad. I would recommend it. If you have stuff that MUST stay dry, get a small plastic box. That's what I did with my tools.

That's what I have on mine....low profile, seems to be high quality. I put it on last October and haven't had any problems with it yet. It locks, and I bought the Pace-Edwards power gate kit too so my tailgate locks with the doors. It's also got a light on it that is pretty convenient, lights up the bed a whole lot better than the lights next to the center brake light. I wired mine up to work with the existing bed light, so I hit one switch and get them all to come on.
