Question Rear breaks?

Ok guys I am replacing the rear break pads on my wifes 99 K1500. Is the rear breaks just like the front? I have been told that you cannot just throw a c-clamp on there to push the caliper piston in. I was told that you have to use a tool to screw it in? Is this true? Where can I get this tool? TIA for your input guys.

Normally - to push in the piston on rear brakes calipers - it is a screw type - I have not had mine apart - but if it is - they make a tool looks like a square block - on each side is different pins in different config - this attaches to a 3/8 extension - and you screw the piston back into the caliper housing - should be able to pick it up at any good parts store - Lisle is one manufacturer that makes it.

Not sure about the 4x4 models but on mine they are straight pistons like the front. You can just push them in on mine. I don't see where the 4x4 would be different because I think all the NBS half tons run the same braking system.

Learn how to capitalize the first letter of the first word in sentence and use a period to end it before you trash someone else for spelling.

The guy is asking for help, there's no need for you to make useless comments like that.

The only type of caliper that need to be screwed in are the ones that use the parking brake and normal brakes in the same caliper, the trucks use a drum brake inside the rotor.
