Just Curious why is not repairable???

Is this an indication of a shorted circuit within the cluster???

I had a 03 chevy and the guage cluster went crazy only guages that worked where the fuel guage and volt meter. There is a recall on those trucks and you can go to the dealership and they should replace it if it has less than 80k on it. Mine had 100k on it but i was able to talk them into giving me a free one and I just paid for the labor and them to program mileage and what not.

It was more of an extended warranty and the terms were 7 years or 70,000 miles (110,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.

Some dealers replaced them just out side of the warranty range if they complained enough while others dealers just stick to the policy. The document states if the dealer does not follow the the warranty claim terms they would not get reimbursed and would eat the cost of the part. It is possible for them to do special case by case were they get GM to eat the part but you eat the labor.

Well, another teacher had the Tech II when I went to school yesterday so I couldnt use it. I did use another ABS Scan Tool and found 0 codes of any kind. Today I am exchanging the master cylinder on it for a new one, just so I can bench bleed it myself and not worry about Reman parts. The front brake hoses are fine, calipers arent seized, But I wont be able to bleed the ABS module till wednesday.

Your ABS hydraulic unit is your issue it sounds like. The unit has a stuck open valve or solenoid which is causing the pedal to drop that much even though you have bleed it and replaced parts. Salvage yards sell those units fairly reasonable,as the last one I bought was 75.00 and fixed the issue.

I have the problem narrowed down to either the proportioning valve, air in the ABS unit, or valves either stuck open or closed in the unit. But if the last one was the problem, wouldn't there be an ABS code?

Yes, ABS has been bled with tech II. I dont see why there are no codes. I will be replacing the brake hoses, AKA: Throwing parts at it, tonight. Something is causing the brake light to come on. Also, something I noticed, all four of my wheel speed sensors read 3 mph sitting still. My instructor said this is okay because they're all the same.

Well, problem solved. Whoever painted the calipers put them back on the wrong sides. Now for a pic of it!
