Doesnt catapillar make fords diesel engines, I thought I remembered seeing ford bought the company a while back

The 7.3l was a international diesel which is in all cat's, not sure about the 6.0l though

They say its made by Navistar, which is the parent company of International. So, International probably makes the Powerstroke and renames it so.

dont feel bad, diesels are some torque monsters, a few months ago i could never keep up with a f250 crewcab!! we went at it about 5x, from a roll ~50-60mph and i got smoked bad everytime, i was .... that truck would pull very hard on the top end... just a big puff of black smoke and it was gone!!

Looks like I might have to go back to 91octane for reasons like this!

My loaded crew cab 4x4 ran low 16s stock. They definitely aren't in the 17s as someone stated. A regular cab might break into the high 15s. With just a chip, they can run high 13s.

Navistar is the new name of International.They changed the name about 10 yrs ago.

Dodge diesel=Cummins

Ford diesel=Navistar

GM diesel=Isuzu
