Default Quick Question...Fuel Pressure Regulator

My truck lately has been hard to start. Hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and it jumps to 60psi, and then quickly bleeds off down to about 10. When I finally get it started, it holds pressure steady at about 55.

Also has no pressure when the truck is off, key off.

Is this a symptom of a bad regulator? Any way to check for sure?

Thanks!

Key on and get fuel pressure. Remove the vacuum line, tap on the regulator, if any fuel comes out it is leaking. From what you describe is sounds like the regulator.

Or a leaking injector. Either are good possibilities.

Replace the regulator, no go.

Was the fuel pump. $300 later all is well.
