So I was supposed to be getting a low mileage 5.3 for basically free but the guy i was gonna get it from never came through. So now im looking for 6L's. I found one on cl for $700. The downside is that it has 150k on it... idk if this is worth looking at with the amount of miles but i plan on doing a cam, headers and converter when I swap it for my abused 5.3. What do u guys think? Oh and im in mid michigan so if anyone around here knows of good places to look for motors then thtd be good to know! thanks

 

Thats about normal around here. If youre going to open it up, Id check the bearings and rings just for peace of mind.

I have a 180k lq4 in my yukon that burns no oil, but I've seen them worn out at 100k (usually from sludge/lack of maintenance or broken parts). Just depends on how theyve been taken care of.

 

yeah my 5.3 has a lot more than 150 but its time for bigger and better things lol thanks for the input.
