Default PS Flush....Bogus?

I bought some tires at NTB and they tried to sell some flushes...one was listed as a ps flush. I've never heard of having to do anything with the ps unless you had some kind of problem.

Is this some totally BS money-grabbing ploy on their part?

Just like any other item that uses fluid eventually it will break down. A PS flush is becoming more main stream, but with that said most OEM dont recomend a service interval for change of this fluid. Just like Brake fluid. Do you think Brake fluid is still good after yrs of sitting in your brake system. I think this is where the issue is. We recomend it at 50,000 mile intervals.

Thanks. I know brake fluid attracts water and dirt and ATF can break down but had never heard of ps fluid going bad over time.

I agree. When I was working for a dealership for a year we did brake and power steering fluid flushes all the time and you could definately tell how dark and old the fluid would look that came out whether it was brake or PS

I just wanted tires;they're probably selling a lot of flushes that are not needed at the time.
