The GN's and T-types came with laquer paint, so no matter what you did to them they cracked and detriorated with time. If you see a shiny one, it's been re-painted.

Have you ever seen an 80's black GM car that has not been painted? The dealers were repainting them in 88 and 89 under warranty.
