Default performance 2wd vs 4wd

Just curious what the 1/4 mile time differences are between a 4.8 or 5.3 2wd vs 4wd. I know the 4wd will have to weigh more. Does anyone know what's the weight difference between an ecsb z71 and a rcsb 2wd?

I'm still debating wheter I want a 2wd or 4wd and this should make the decision for me... Thanks

2wd weighs less and has less rotational mass and less drivetrain loss.
4wd has no traction issues.
Toss up!
I like my 4wd launches.

4hi launch owns all on the street

You wont be like the 2wd guys on here bitching about traction constantly, that is untill you hit about 500rwhp

If you posted this question 3 years ago, I would have said 2WD is better. Then a certain turbocharged blue truck came along and changed my whole opinion on 4WD trucks. Bottom line, if you plan on making 400+ HP to the rear wheels, 4WD is better. If you are making less than 400 at the wheels, 2WD would be my choice. As for your question about weight, I know extended cab trucks weigh approx. 500 lbs. more than a similar regular cab truck. I don't know how much a 4WD weighs compared to a 2WD truck.
