Painted door handle delima
#1
I have 2 sets of door handles from a 02 tahoe that are painted. One set has the key hole and the other set doesn't. Should I go with the keyless entry look and worry about not being able to get into the truck if the battery dies/runs down or keyfob dies? Or should I use them since I never use the locks and keep fresh batteries in the keyfob and spring for a new optima battery?

I would use the ones with the keyholes unless you plan on shaving the handles alltogether. Your batteries only die when it is pouring down rain and you have your hands full anyway.

Hey Artic GMC just by chance when I ordered mine, it got mixed up at the factory somehow and the drivers side had the key hole and the passenger side didn't. So I installed it like that and its bad *** looking. On the passengers side, 2 of the bolts like up perfect, 1 of them does not go into the hole, but there is metal on 2 sides but the nut to grab firmly on to, so there is no chance of it coming loose. Also on the passenger side you have to transfer the spring and the piece that holds the rod, because it is shorter for the front door. All that holds it on is a plastic pin, so it takes a couple minutes tops. I will take a pic and post it here in a minute. I think I am the only person in the US like this so you can be the 2nd. (And yes the remote craps out on me about once a week so I am glad I can still use the key.

Use the ones with the key hole. My buddy has a cadillac that you can only open with the keyless entry and we have had to hitch a ride home from work when his remote stopped working.
