Oil pressure ports?
Helping a buddy out with his truck. An 03 Z71 with a 5.3L. Basically bone stock and low miles. Anyway..... oil pressure reading about 68psi at idle. More when tooling down the road. Pegs the gauge. First thoughts were the stepper motor in the cluster. It's okay. Hooked up HPT to it today and confirmed gauge reading same as to the PCM.
Next we want to confirm the sending unit is correct. Where is there an easy access port to hook up a mechanical gauge?
After that we're thinking its got to be in the pump. Debris in the relief valve or sticking.

the sender mount is the only location, unless you remove the allen head on the drivers side of the block . . .
I've seen others tap the block off plate above the oil filter . . . but I have no idea on how good the pressure is coming off of it.
Ya'll both have 03 motors . . . swap sensors
