I did an lq4 swap last weekend and I pulled the oil pan and pickup and windage tray to inspect the bores and whatever else I could see. Well I knew to be careful reinstalling the pickup tube for pinched oring. However the oring looked damaged so I swapped it out with one from a new oil pan I had. The old one was red and the new one was blue big mistake. They physically looked the same (because the old one was compressed). But when I cranked it up 0-5 lbs at idle and 20-30 at 2000. So after doing some searching on here I found out that the thickness of the red o-ring is 20 to 25 thousands thicker. Just about ruined my motor. So today I swapped o-rings and now 40-50 at idle. Moral of the story this site has some good info on it.

My oil pump bypass got stuck open and I only let the vehicle run for 10 seconds or so and my bearings were ruined.... Also no noise but a lifter 3-4 light ticks at startup, but the oil was full of metal after a while and I got the dealer to eat all of the repairs because they changed the oil pump. I also only had 22,000 or something on the odo. I paid them to change the pump and then later they ate a new crank, cam, lifters and all new bearings... Now the engine sounds like new and no noise. But I was sure pissed because the said the bearings were fine and obviously they weren't... You should be okay as I had no oil pressure... Just watch the oil and see if you see any metal in it. Again I hardly ever heard any noise, but the oil was proof something had happened.
