Default Oil change question...

Does the "CHANGE ENGINE OIL" on the dash have to be erased with a scanner or will it go away. I changed the oil today and its still there on startup..im guessing that it need to be scanned?...

turn key to on position, press gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds then start the truck. that resets the oil change light. gotta do this every time
