No-start condition
#1
What can cause a no-start condition? It ran fine when I drove it last (Sunday), now all of a sudden it wont start.
It's a 2000 GMC Sierra with a 5.3 V8.
The starter is clicking over and the engine is turning, so it's got power. Seems like it must be lacking fuel or spark, and I'm at a loss as to which one it is. It ran perfectly last weekend, now it's just turning over forever.
Man I hate fuel injection.
The fuel pump was replaced at 78k miles... I'd hate to think it's gone bad again. Or it could be something spark related... but when it comse to that it could be almost anything.
I was hoping that this might be some sort of common problem with these trucks because figuring out the problem is half the battle, and I've got no clue where to start since I know the battery is fine and the starter is turning over.

I had my Passlock sensor in the steering column go bad with no warning. It will give you the same scenario you are describing. I believe my security warning light was on when this sensor went bad. It will give you a no start situation that seems like you are not getting fuel. My truck is a 2000 also if that matters.
