no speedometer 02 sliverado

Default no speedometer 02 sliverado

i have a 02 silverado todayt he speedometer stoped working i swaped te two speedsensors around on the tcase that got it to work for about 5miles then it drop to 0 and no no matter what i do its stuck the i ordered two new sensor to try tomarrow any more ideas?

There is a recall on the speedo cluster. If your miles are under 75000 gm will replace it for free. This happened to mine. I have an '04 speedo went out and payed $350 to fix it then found out gm would fix it.

If you paid out, then they may give you the money back. Did me. Paid all $325 back to me in a check. Just had to show receipt and credit card statement.

Trust me, it's the Instrument Cluster. But I doubt that GM will re-imburse you for replacing parts because of a incorrect diagnosis. If you had replaced the Cluster and paid for it, then yeah, they'd reimburse you. To check the speedometer, all you needed to do was a simple Sweep Test of the guages. But if you have less than 75,000 on the ticker, you will be repaired for free.

I thought that only the 03+ trucks had the recall?

yeah you're right Budhayes, it is for the 03 to 05. I didn't pay attention to his year model.
