Default Nitto 555's fitment question..

I'm thinking of getting some 295/45/18 Nitto 555's (not 555R) for the rear. The only problem is my wheel is only 8.5" wide and the Nitto website recommends a 9.5" minimum wheel width. I currently have 285/50's and they fit fine. Do you think these tires would fit or would it cause to much of a bulge? Anyone else run these tires?
Thanks

I'd worry about the contact patch and wearing them on the middle
you'd be pretty close with them
The tires have a pretty stiff side wall to them
these tires hook ok to a point I run the 555Rs 305 45 18's on the back of my truck
Yhey do better then most tires that fit back there just have to make sure they are hot before you get into it at all

Are you asking about the 404's? They hook a lot better than the stock Generals I used to have. They're also really good in wet weather. Another nice thing was that they were relatively cheap for a tire of this size ($130 vs. $200 for the 555's).

I was just looking to beef up traction a little more with a new set of tires, since I'll hopefully finish the 408 in the next 6-8 months. The 295/45 555's were about the widest I could find that could concievably fit on my 8.5" wheel.
