Default newb looking for advice

I've been lurking for about a week now, and have learned a lot, but now I'm at a point where I could use some advice.
I'm in the process of finding and buying a Dark Metallic Blue 2007 Tahoe. After seeing them online it brought back memories of my indidgo 95 Tahoe, boy was that a great truck...anyway
The DOD feature in the 5.3 concerns me. I plan on adding some sort of forced induction to liven this pig up. I'm not going to pretend I know a whole lot about what would be involved with this, so any opinions would be great.
Would it be smart to instead go for the 3/4 ton Suburban with the 6.0 liter?

Many thanks in advance, and I'm sure I'll try to pick y'alls brains later on some more issues.

Mick

I'm sure that the major companies involved in forced induction will all have to address this issue if they are to provide a kit for the new DOD set-ups. No idea how difficult it may be, but you may have to wait awhile since it's only the first year of production. The Tahoe is a nice truck but I tend to prefer the Subs even though they make for a larger daily driver.

I won't be able to super/turbocharge for another couple of years, so waiting isn't a big deal, I'm just trying to avoid a possibly making a major mistake.
I've owned a 95 tahoe and currently own a 99 suburban, so I'm experience but only with the older gernerations. I've kind of had my heart set on the Tahoe, but I wouldnt dare complain about a 3/4 ton suburban either. Thanks

My belief is to never buy the first year of a new model. Let them work out the bugs first

here's another twist on things. I just realized the new Yukon Denali comes with the 6L80 6 speed and the 6.2 liter....
for another 2 or $3k this doesn't sound bad at all, even though I don't like the looks as much.
is the 6L80 and more durable than the 4L60 in terms of power handling, or would I end up doing a 4L80 swap after 30k miles anyway?
I figure if the 6 speed is a good investment, then its worth it.
If its not, then i'll just make my own power from the 5.3 and do the trans. swap down the road. Thoughts? Thanks again.
