Default New(used) truck problem...

...If you start the truck, turn the AC on then turn it off (leaving the blower running just AC button off) it seems like it doesn't disengage and keeps blowing cold. If you start the truck with the AC off (button off) then it blows normal air like what I would expect (outside vented air) but if I turn the AC on then back off it doesn't appear to turn off. Anyone encounter this?

Do you have it set to recirculate by any chance? Any time recirculate is on the a/c compressor is on too, even if you don't have the a/c button turned on.

mine did that... when i had a/c

but, it would blow out cold air AFTER I shut it off too... air will always flow through the vents.. but it was also responsive to where my thermostat was set too.. i could have the air off but turn it to hot and it would blow out hot air while driving and than it would blow cold when i turned it to cold, never got any "outside air"

wow that's kind of gay lol, I'll check again but I cycled through most of those buttons but I do know I had recirculate on most of the time. Thanks.

Recirc will just close the blend door to outide air...if it's in the defrost position the a/c comressor will kick on.

When you turn off the a/c (button), try to listen if the compressor kicks off. It may just take a while for the cool air across the evaporator to dissapate. If the compressor turns off when you push the a/c button off, I would think that it's operating normal.
