new project.

I just picked up my new long term project. it's a 1969 chevy 3/4 truck. it's an origanly a 400sb 4 spd 2wd truck. has a 305 in it now but everything else is original. the cab is in excellent shape needing only minor work for paint however the bed is shot on the truck. the motor runs but has a very bad rod bearing that's about to go on it. the chassie has ussualy rust on it but easliy cleaned up. I'm planning on doing a blower motor for it either a sb with a 671 or a big block with a 871. the 4sp is geting replaced with a rock crusher trans. I want to bag the truck and use a clean and simply silver metalic paint scheme. the rear's a 14 bolt that will get rebuild with a detriot and 3:73's and will hold up to the power. the interior is still undecided though. I'm planing on something simply with probly racing bucket's and have a custom shop do some leather work for me.I personaly love this style truck and have big plan's but it'll be a couple year's til it's done. it'll be frame off and done right. right now I'm still tring finialize everything but I'll be starting my mock up this winter and hopfully be ready to stripe it down and get to building it next summer.

those are awsomly cool trucks since the bed is shot and its a 3/4ton it it were ME I would find a beat old SWB 2wd 1/2ton put your cab and front clip on it. Are you SURE its a 14Bolt? If it is then it is not origional, should have a D60 or MAYBE a D70.

well I'm not 200 % sure it's a 14 bolt I didn't look close enough yet. it's probly a d60 but I know for sure it isn't a eaton rear. I'm going to keep the 3/4 chassie. if I get rid of it I'll swap in a 4x4 frame and lift it but I'll only do that if I need to replace the frame. I have a short day tomorrow at work so when I get home I'm going to get into looking it over realy. good. I saw that other truck in a truck mag it's nice but I don't want to lay frame. I'm actually going to use this truck to pull a enclosed trailer and a rv when done. so it won't be lookn' pretty the whole time. hopfuly it won't take me forever to finish it though.
