New Corvette named! And word of OHC V8.

I am very happy they didn't give it the "SS" or "blue devil" name. SS doesn't belong on the vette since it is a league of its own and GM likes to put that badge on every car they have now days. It may even be out already but the Uplander needs an SS badge too! As for "blue devil" it just reminds me of Yamaha when the nick-named the 1998 SRX700 as the "Blue devil". So it just doesn't fit for a corvette in my book. It also wouldn't fit in with the nomenclature of euro super cars...

Give em time... you can't just jump right up to it! Its like technology and computers, they have to sell off the older stuff first to make money on it. Which is why most of it is outdated by the time you can buy it!
They probably need to figure out the next best thing above that becuase you know Chrysler won't take that sitting down for the viper. Let me tell you how it will go: The viper has now for 2008 600HP. GM knew they needed more power to catch up so they released the Z06 with 505HP, Now we will get the ZR1 back and kicking *** with 650HP and getting ahead. Next the viper will end up getting another 50-100hp and be around 700-750hp. Then GM will have to figure out what they will need to accomplish this and exceed it. This will keep going on and on till they can no longer reliably make more power or they have too much power and the government/insurance companies will step in and tell them NO.

GM IS A TRICKY BUNCH. THEY ARE DOING ALOT TO GET BACK ON TRACK WITH THE REST OF THE MAKES, YOU ARE JUST SEEING THE BEGINNING..
THEY HAVE HEARD THE CALL OF THE PERFORMANCE ENTHUSIAST... AND THEY ARE RESPONDING...
THEY MAY BE LATE TO THE SHOW... BUT THERE PRESENCE WILL BE KNOWN WHEN THEY HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

I'm still pissed they never came out with a single cab Silverado SS in the 99-02 models

505hp Z06 = high 11's
650hp ZR1 = high 10's?????? Should be a badass car!

I actually read an article somewhere, maybe online, maybe a fake, but a guy bought a new Z06, threw some drag radials or slicks on there and went to the track to run a 10.9xx. Everything else stock. My current GMHTP mag reads stock they run mid 11's though.
