Hey all, I'm the new owner of a 1999 GMT800 Silverado. Looking to do a street build and not go to crazy because it will be a daily. My side project is a 01' Camaro SS. I need a daily because here in NY everyone and their mother LOVES to tailgate. So with a decent build I'm planning to get near 400 hp. I have the 5.3 in her with an automatic trans. anything i need to know befor i start off? also i wanna lower her to a nice ride hight any suggestions on springs and shocks?

 

Do you plan on opening the motor up? I would suggest some flat tops (gen 4 5.3 gives you the better rods and flat tops, 799 heads, a cam from Texas speed or BTR and a tune from Blackbear Performance. You might not see 400 to the wheels but should get that at the crank pretty easy.

 

More information and pictures would help us help you even more. Is the truck a regular cab short bed? 4x4? What is done to it as of now? Do you have a budget?
