I dunno i guess ive worked in a fast paced assembly line job and that might have biased me toward that way of thinking, i dunno..? but thats my train of thought for the most part on it..
thanks for clarifying

All this talk about batteries I decided to replace mine today. I had the OE in my 07 Silverado. I went with the Delco Pro 48 7YR. The OE had 615 CCA, the new has 770 CCA. My cost was $98.00.

Well I just ordered the 7 year, 800 CCA Delco Pro from the dealership down the street from my work (along with a trans cooler kit for my truck, and some parts for the Blazer). My buddy there said that the battery is going to cost me somewhere between $80-$95...not bad It's definitely good to have connections

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I picked up my parts today...Delco Pro, 7 year, 800 cca...going to go install it in the truck now and fire it up It's raining so I might back the truck out of the garage into the rain to knock some of the dirt off of it...

I had to replace my yellow top this weekened because I kind of shorted the starter while replacing the trans.

Ill will say it worked great after several years....until I shorted it and it only read 1.3v

I replaced it with a red top and the red starts the truck much easier than the yellow did. 1000cca i believe.

Honestly, out of all these terms, which of these really matter? How do I determine if a given amt. will turn over my truck in 0 - subzero wether?

Cause from what I found, unless you're running car w/. key off for hours on end, accessories on, reserve capacity of 35 min is enuff. That said, after vehicle is running doesn't matter if alternator is fine

So should I just worry bout CCA's? And reserve? I listen to radio for 15 min now & then key off. No thumper stereo, no amp.

IMO, you can never have too much reserve, you never know...oh btw, the battery cost me $92.50 and I have to give them my old battery back as a core...

The truck is alive again, now to get it moving...

Took some pics of the new batt for the heck of it...wanna see?
