need help!!! hard time pumping gas into truck

Default need help!!! hard time pumping gas into truck

i have 04 Chevy silverado 1500 with 5.3. the problem has been getting worse now it wont let pump gas it stop like ever 2 dollars. when i open my gas cap before fueling up it sounds like alot of air is coming out or sucking in. the truck isnt throwing any codes either.

That was happening on mine a year ago. I had something plugged and warranty replaced it. Just can't think of what it was. Had something to do with the gas tank vent or something.

Sounds like a plug beather line on the fuel tank. Check your warranty. It should be covered under emissions/pollution control which have a much longer warranty then bumper to bumper.
If not check the small line that runs beside the larger fill hose.

the truck has a 100k on i dont think it has anymore warranty. ill check it out im going to try to replace that small line.

Its the evap solenoid ( or whatever its called) that is mounted on the tank itself.

My 05 tahoe did the same thing, about 22$ from the dealer, easy fix.

I just pull the nozzle out a little bit at a time till it starts working.

My votes on the tank vent solenoid.

Edit: Found an old post that should help. Sounds like 04BlackSilverado was having the same problem.
