Default Need help, 6 lug wheels and winter

Guys, last winter, the salt and potassium chloride really took a toll on my wheels. In the spring, the chrome was stained and peeling. GM replaced them, but made quite a fuss over it and told me not to try it again before the warranty is up, that it was a one time deal. I want to take them off during the winter and run a cheap set of wheels I don't care about. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was told at the dealer I would need a minimum of a 17" wheel because of the rear disc brakes. That sounds right to me. Anyone have experience with this? Got a set of wheels for sale? Thanks

I went to my local Les Schwab and bought some factory takeoff 17" Avalanche wheels for $50 each, they're clear coated and handle the salt & calcium chloride.

Thanks for the reply. I will check the local tire shops and salvage yards. IDOT likes to use potassium chloride instead of calcium chloride because they say it gives better results with ice melting, but it is really corrosive on wheels.

What about keeping the stockers for winter and getting some lightweight Centerlines or something like that for summer?

You can run Nissan Titan/Armada wheels, if you can't find any cheap GM's. I think most of them are 18".
