there is a lot of room but the rim is about 1" from hiting the brake line, adjusting the back spacing much would cause a 16 or 17" rim to hit it. i think with some 18" rims you could run any back spacing you want and then put some monster tires under there.

oops. i measured that sidewall width wrong. those tires in the pic's are 11.5" wide. with the right back spacing you could fit a tire with a 13" section and stay under the truck. more if you let it hang out a little.

are there any wide, tall tires for 18" or bigger rims?

like redaddiction said some 3 series tires would look nice. im going for lightweigt rims and as much tire as i can get. at minimum i would like at least a 305 tire, but that depends on what kind of traction i can get on the street. obviously at the track ill run something else. i wanted to stick to 16's or as close as possible because( and yes this sounds retarded probably) i know mickey t makes dot slicks for 16's but i dont know of anyone going any bigger than that. im going to buy 6 rims so that i can still have the same look at the track. any ideas, questions, comments, rotten fruit??????

I want to run a 335 with a 5 in. drop in the back but I will be running 20''s most likely time to search for some tire selections.

if your talking about the MT drag radials they seem to be a killer tire but are very short. 26" tall is all.

i am looking at M&H, they have some better sizes but i dont know how grippy they are. they have a 28" tall DR for 16" rims. check these out >> http://www.intercotire.com/html/radial_racing.htm

i would love to see that? , that tire is seriously wide and with a 17" rim you would be limited on your backspacing my the brake line.

i put 29" tires on my last truck and they were really short. i may end up with those 28" tall DR's they have but am worried that they may look silly being so short.

18X9.5 with 6 bs will leave you with approx 1.25 left before rubbing on the leaf spring running a 305/45 -18 nitto drag radial.
That also puts you just about flush with a step side bed.

Thats if your thinking 18's or larger.

I'm not 100% sure on the 17's and the brake line bolt but,
you could prolly do a 17X10 with a 7" back space and still stay flush with the fender. Really close to the leaf springs though. Any wider and they will stick out, time for fender flares or white walls

thanks creederado. i do plan on using some factory looking flares. also what kind of traction you get with those tires. if i could find a really lightweight 18 and those tires hook then that would be cool. thanks again

Creederado--just curious if you think a 20X10 w/ a 315/35/20 would fit COMPLETELY inside the fenderwells. I've seen that pic before w/ the backspacing-figuring thingamajobbie. Did you borrow that tool, or is it yours? Where can I get one?

I'm looking to get my 20X8.5's rehooped and run 20X10s in the rear. I know that a 10" wide rim will fit, just not sure about the 315 section width.
