Moral decision: Did I make the right one, or am I really stupid?!?!

He didn't happen to have a Panasonic deck in there did he. If so, I WANT IT BACK!!!
JK! I agree with what the others are saying, buying that crap contributes to what they do. Also it contributes to drugs, because 9 times out of 10 that's where they'll spend their hard earned money.
I just saw that movie Jingle All the Way, this christmas, with the Govornator in it. Anyway there's a scene in the movie that's kinda like what you were describing. Just as he buys the stolen goods, the cops come in and bust the whole operation. You did the right thing.

Well for sure you did not do the right thing, you could have had a camcorder for 60 bucks!!! But on the other hand you did do the moral thing and not take it. Just have to look at it and see which outwieghs the other.
Yeah I dont like buying crap like that man, it someones elses stuff!!

You did the right thing. In California, that would have been a felony to purchase the cam, it's called Receiving Stolen Property. Plus why would you want to support a thief, next week he could be selling your car stereo.

As far as the moral side of it, you definately did the right thing.
In all reality, whether you buy it or not, someone will.
In that situation I wouldve done the same thing for 2 reasons.
1. How do you know that thing is going to work now or better yet 2 days from now?
2. Im not getting arrested or paying fines to save a few bucks on something I can buy for a little more and get a warranty.
I for one have little faith in our criminal justice system for punishing anyone other than law abiding citizens.
I have had stuff stolen and other criminal acts so many times Ive lost count. I have never recieved any compensation or even the satisfaction of seeing the person do time. Even when I took it upon myself to apprehend the theif!!
He didnt even get fined and it was his 5th conviction!!
I will now, once again, relinquish my throne

he may have been an undercover officer which could have been bad. i wouldn't have bought them, but it's not from a moral issue. i'd rather have seen him get hit by a truck and kick him as he's holding his guts in place than give someone like that the money. those things are worth more than $60...
cant ever get someone doing that with a radix....
