honestly....... the time it takes the air to get from the air filter to the tb.... the air its not goin to heat up that much.... and a "heatsink" is actually a good thing for heat, as it dissipates heat keepin it cooler.. i think the words u were lookin for are "heat soak"

Personally i would go with the AEM intake, if you have efans gets the model designed for efans because the transistion to the TB is alot smoother....

Also the closed versus open airfilter... I have had both and this is my take on it... the closed (volant) will heat soak and will take longer to recover.... the open (AEM) will heat soak but it recovers faster... Just my .02...

main thing i like about the nasty performance intake is no one has it....

and i just think that would be a cool thing to have if you are planning on showing your truck

You could always build your own..Do you know how to weld or know somebody that does??

Intake hoses dot com and siliconeintakes dot com both have piping kits that you can fab your own up with either silicone couplers or welding...

I picked up a 90* and 2 45* silicone elbows from them and used the stock box with a Volant ram air tube feeding it..

If i buy a name brand one it'll be the volant forsure since it has the hole in the bottom for the tube already
